Whether you've grown up in church or are trying it out for the first time, we want you to feel welcomed at Brook UMC. We know visiting churches can be scary, so we do our best to make you feel at home when worshipping with us. Here are a few frequently asked questions and answers we hope will help put you at ease. See you in worship!

CHURCH WORSHIP DURING COVID-19

Due to the pandemic, our regular worship service has been altered. At this time we have both in-person and online worship. Our in-person worship services include spaced seating, masks, and other precautions. Presently, our Sunday children's ministries are on hold, but we make accommodations for families and children in our worship service. As the weather gets nicer, we will have outdoor services available.

What should I expect when I visit on a Sunday morning?

When you enter the church foyer, you will be greeted by smiling faces excited to meet you. After making your way up the stairs or elevator, our friendly ushers will welcome you and provide a bulletin that gives a snapshot of what's planned for worship, as well as events and announcements in the life of the church. You are then invited to have a seat anywhere in the sanctuary. Don't worry...there are no "reserved" seats to navigate! Worship  typically lasts right around an hour, including a blend of "traditional" worship with a "contemporary" message from Pastor Matt. After worship, you are invited to join us for a time of fellowship in our social hall with delicious coffee and donuts. We hope you'll quickly feel like you're with family!

What should I wear?

On Sunday mornings, you will see people dressed in everything from shorts and t-shirts to suits and dresses. There is no dress code and others aren't concerned with what you wear. We just want you to come as you are.

What is there for young children?

At Brook, we delight in having many young families with lots of kids as part of our congregation. We believe it is important for families to worship together, so all children are invited to join their parents during our service until Children's Church begins later in the service (although they're welcome to stay with you the entire time). The ushers will be happy to provide you with an activity bag for your kids to enjoy during worship. We also always have a Children's Moment, which creatively communicates the gospel message in a way kids can understand. For your convenience, we also have a nursery for children three and under that is staffed during worship by two trained volunteers who have undergone background checks.
