What We’re All About
ABC Preschool offers a fun, hands on, learning experience for children 3 to 5 years old within a faith-based environment. This allows our little learners the opportunity to work and play alongside fellow classmates while improving various skills such as fine motor, social, and emotional skills.
Our preschool focuses strongly on kindergarten readiness and follows the Indiana Department of Education's Kindergarten readiness standards.
Through art, music, movement, and play we are able to provide various learning environments and experiences for our preschoolers. We strive on making every day an exciting day so that our littles will form great memories to share with family and friends.

Don't worry! ABC Preschool has a waitlist where potential students can have a pre-registration form kept on file. If a spot opens up throughout the year or we are beginning pre-registration for an upcoming school year, we will contact all families that are on our waitlist to see if they are still in need of a spot.

Meet The Teacher
Ms. Kayla
"Hello there! I'm Kayla Bretzinger, your new ABC Preschool lead teacher! I grew up in Francesville where I graduated from West Central High School in 2008 and went on to receive my degree and CDA in Early Childhood Education at Ivy Tech Community College of Lafayette. I have worked with children my entire life. I have been a passionate caregiver and lead teacher for over a decade at a few different daycare programs, a head teacher for the three-year-old class at a preschool, and a Programs Director and story time teacher for a library. Most recently I have been a loving stay-at-home mom to my two children, Grayson and Oaklyn and a devoted wife to my husband of 10 years, Ron.
In 2020, my family and I moved from Francesville to Kentland and in 2022 we began attending church at BUMC and we love it here! In 2023 Ron and I were awarded our license in Foster Care in Indiana and have shared our love with a few children in the foster system.
In my free time I love to be outside on my hammock listening to music, taking golf cart rides around town, watching "The Joy of Painting" with Bob Ross with Grayson, thrifting and hitting up all the good yard sales, crafting and attending craft classes at the Brook and Kentland libraries and most of all spending time with my family. While I have enjoyed staying at home with my children, I am very excited to get back into teaching and helping to shape your children’s amazing minds! Fostering a love of learning, reading, and creativity is what I love to do! I am looking forward to meeting all of the children and their families at ABC Preschool and serving as your new lead teacher!"
FAQs
What are your age requirements?
We accept children ages 3 to 5 years old. Children must the be age of 3 by August 1st. They must be potty trained and fully self sufficient in the bathroom process.
How much does ABC Preschool cost?
$20 per day
$60/week for the 3 day program
$100/week for the 5 day program
What are your class days/hours?
We operate Monday-Friday 8am-12pm
3 day students attend Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
5 day students attend Monday-Friday
When does the school year begin/end?
We tend to follow South Newton's schedule very closely so we normally start around the time that they do. We typically have our preschool end of year celebration in mid May during Sunday service.
How do I sign up?
Pre-registration opens up in the spring. Once Pre-registration begins forms will be available in the church's main office, at the Brook Public Library, and also online to print. Just fill out a form and turn it into the church's office. There is a $30 registration fee as well. Spots are filled on a first come first serve basis and time stamped when turned into the office. We will call each family and inform them if their child received a spot. All other forms will be moved onto our waitlist.
What if your preschool is already full?
We have a wait list where we hold your Pre-registration form and contact you if any spots open up throughout the year. We will also hold your form for the upcoming school year if your child would still be of age to attend. We can also provide you with any information to preschools in the surrounding areas.
When can we meet the teachers/register?
We hold a registration day/meet the teacher day that is appointment based. If your child receives a spot at our preschool we will inform you on the day and set up a time to meet. On that day we strongly encourage that you bring your little one with so we can get to know them and do some fun activities with them as well.
